We restore teeth with white fillings so that the filling looks natural when you laugh and smile. We believe white fillings work just as well as the old traditional amalgam but, like any filling it is important to look after the tooth by proper brushing and flossing, otherwise the decay will return. White fillings can be either composite resin or a porcelain inlay/onlay.

Composite resin fillings

Bond to the tooth and are completely set once your appointment is finished, requiring only one visit.  Composite resins are excellent cosmetic fillings except when the decayed area to be filled is too large or subject to heavy chewing.  In this case a porcelain material is stronger and a better option.

Porcelain Inlays or Onlays are a good option for when a large part of the tooth is missing.

Porcelain looks like natural tooth and is very strong. Porcelain Onlays are generally less invasive than a crown leaving more tooth for strength and support.

Porcelain Inlays or Onlays generally involve two visits as they need to be custom made for your tooth by a Dental Ceramist.  While the porcelain restoration is being fabricated, a provisional inlay will be placed in the tooth cavity to protect it. The porcelain restoration when available will be bonded to the tooth at a separate appointment.
